Creating Vendor Modules on Spiffy

What is it that retailers and budtenders want to learn about your brand? How do you help keep your products top of mind? Spiffy is the key to consistently engaging with those that sell your product every day!πŸ”‘

There is data out there supporting a statistic we used to see very commonly in our restaurant days about beer recommendations... That 75% of consumers purchase products recommended by budtenders in-store!

This means budtenders possess more influence on the sales floor than most of us even realize. Investing in educational assets surrounding your brand and product line-up leaves a lasting impression in the eyes of national budtenders and will help keep your brand and products top of mind when making these recommendations.

Part 1 - What do they want to know?

Budtenders not only possess questions of their own but they're also answering the endless amount of consumer questions they get in-store too. By uploading content to our platform that enables budtenders to speak to your brand and products, you're empowering them to sell and thus consumers to purchase from you!

Your Brand

What makes you, your team, your methods, and your products stand out! Do you have any levels of responsibility that you're proud of? Many budtenders are telling us that consumers oftentimes come in asking to buy from brands that GIVE BACK! Whether it be the types of packaging materials you use or the fact that a portion of sales proceeds is donated back to communities - these are things that speak volumes about your brand.

Your Cultivation Methods

What has led you down the path you're on? Is it your unique cultivation practices? Is it your bold cross-breeding? What empowers your growers to make the decisions they do when developing or harvesting? Content that is gaining a lot of traction on Spiffy is interviews with growers or executives speaking to why you grow the way you GROW!

Your Product Line

Whether you want to dive in deep, discussing one product per module - or share a full line-up in a 3-page PDF - arming the budtenders with product-specific information ensures they know what they're talking about when your items pop into their menu. Not only are we suggesting you cover the cultivar name and potential taste/effects; we're also suggesting you discuss strain lineage, aromas, terpene profiles and suggested usage or consumer identifiers!

Part 2 - What do I need to build a module on Spiffy?

In order to build a module, a few assets are required for a successful launch on Spiffy:

  •  Cover image for the module (optional) - if one is not provided, the company logo will be displayed.
  • A module title and description - if the module is for a promotion you may also wish to include an end date.
  • 1-2 pieces of bite-sized training content - can be a 1-3 minute piece of video content, a 2-3 page PDF or both!
  • 3-5 questions on learning material - to achieve the highest level of engagement and retention from the budtenders, we suggest no more than 5 questions per module.

Supporting Items for a Module Build

#1. Module Basics

This is the first page that will be visible for app users when clicking into the module. It gives them an overview of the content, the estimated time to complete the module, and an image associated with the module. We recommend uploading a captivating image to draw users in! (If no cover image your Brand logo will be used.)

When building a module, this is where we would upload the module cover image, title and description!

#2. Content

Spiffy can accept two types of content - PDF or video material. Keeping content brief and easy to understand ensures users can walk away with the key takeaways from each module. See the image below for all content specs.

spec-1In Pixels - PDFs are recommended to be 1440 x 2960 pixels.

When creating content try to make them engaging and interesting! PDFs and videos that showcase your brand's personality are exactly what budtenders and retailers want. Questions we advise you to answer within your content include:

  • THC/CBD percentages
  • Terpene profile details
  • Flavours, scents, potential effects caused by usage
  • Strain name, parent details, lineage history
  • Story behind the naming of the product
  • The "why" behind these seeds' were selected, cultivated, cured in certain ways
  • Brand values, mission, social/environmental responsibility

#3. Questions

There are 3 types of questions you can ask on Spiffy:

  • True or False
  • Multiple Choice (4 answer options)
  • Select All (4 answer options)

We advise having between 3-5 questions per module, to ensure users are engaging with and learning about the most important takeaways. We'll always advise vendors to set their modules' minimum scores to pass to be 100% (bottom right of figure below). There are no limits to how many times users can re-attempt the modules so ensuring they answer every question correctly to pass the module, ensures they know how to speak to your product in-store, too!
